The short version
We collect what we need to run Remora Garage for your shop, keep it secure and support you. We don't sell personal information and we don't show ads.
What we collect
Your account: your name, email, phone, shop name and address, and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
Your shop's records: the customers, vehicles, jobs, invoices and payments you enter in the hosted service. We hold these for you and process them only on your instructions.
When you use the site or app: technical details such as IP address, browser and times, kept for security and to fix problems.
From the downloadable app: when it starts its trial and once a day after that (you can turn the daily check off), it sends its installation ID, version, license status, when it last backed up and four totals (staff, customers, and jobs and invoices in the last 30 days), plus your contact details when you register. It never sends your customers' records.
When you write to us: what you tell us.
How we use it
To provide and secure the service, deliver your license, send the emails you ask for (such as estimates and reminders to your customers), answer support requests, bill you, and tell you about your trial and account. Aggregated totals help us improve the product.
Your customers' information
For the records you keep about your customers, your shop decides what is collected and why; we act on your behalf. If one of your customers asks us about their information, we'll pass the request to you.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run Remora Garage (hosting, email delivery, and the text-message or payment services you choose to connect), under confidentiality obligations; authorities when the law requires it; and a successor if the business is sold, under this policy.
Cookies and visit counts
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect your account. No advertising or tracking cookies.
On remoragarage.com's own pages we count visits with privacy-friendly analytics that sets no cookies and doesn't identify you. Shops' websites and the app itself are not counted.
How long we keep it
Account and shop records for as long as you use Remora Garage, then as described when you cancel. Security logs for a limited time. Billing records as long as tax law requires.
Security
Connections are encrypted, access is limited by role, sign-ins can use two-step verification, and hosted records are backed up. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you suspect a problem.
Your choices and rights
You can see, correct and export your information in the app, and ask us to delete your account. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have further rights to know, correct or delete personal information; we don't sell or share it for cross-context advertising. Write to us to use these rights; we won't treat you differently for doing so.
Children
Remora Garage is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 16.
